The Anchorage International Film Festival is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2001 and committed to independent film-making. Hundreds of volunteers, filmmakers, artists, sponsors, partners, and supporters make it possible to put on a two-week event every December.
MISSION:
AIFFs mission is to develop, promote and sustain a film festival that supports new media and independent film making in Alaska and around the world while enriching cultural and entertainment opportunities for Alaskans. Our nonprofit organization continues to play a part in expanding film screening and production opportunities throughout the state.
As North Americans northernmost independent film festival, AIFF now enters its 10th event of bringing movie-goers out of the cold and into the illuminating worlds of filmmakers form around the globe.
By bringing filmmakers from all parts of the country and world to Alaska, we want artists to connect with people they might not otherwise meet, and engage audiences in workshops, screenings, and plenty of celebratory parties.
