WHATS IN A NAME?
Turnagain Arm is home to one of the world's largest bore tides. In 1778 it was named by members of Captain Cook's crew in their quest for the Northwest Passage. As they navigated this huge body of water they were certain they had found it - only to have to turn again at it's eastern terminus.
