The Alaska Native Heritage Center Season Opening Celebrates Mother's Day
and the centers 13th Anniversary.

Anchorage - The Alaska Native Heritage Center's summer season opens with their
annual Mother's Day event on May 13, 2012. Summer hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. In special recognition, Mother's Day admission is sponsored by Target and is free to the public.

Opening Day at the ANHC is a celebration of sight and sound. Colorful regalia, authentic
Native dance and storytelling entertain and educate all ages. Live demonstrations and guest
participation give visitors hands-on learning opportunities. Self-guided cultural tours and lifesized replicas of traditional village sites provide visitors with a real-world experience.

Special guests and performances include:
- Medicine Dream
- Pamyua Children's art activities
- Native Children's art activities
- Native Games demonstrations
- Native dancing by the Alaska Native Heritage Center Dancers, King Island singer and
Dancers of Anchorage, and Lipquinm Gumilgit Goagodim.
