Alyeska Resort presents new ski, snowboard and snow machine films from the top names in the Industry 


 November 28, 2011 (Girdwood, Alaska) - Alyeska Resort's Snow Film Series, now in its third year, features the best ski, snowboard and snow machine movies in the industry every other Wednesday night in the Sitzmark Bar & Grill. 

    
The next films in the series on November 30, 2011, showcase two legends of the snowboard industry. Standard Film's TB20 is the twentieth installment of the Totally Board series, which helped pioneer big mountain snowboarding and revolutionize action sports movie production. Absinthe Film's Twel2ve follows twelve riders redefining the limits of what is possible in a snowboarding film. Tickets cost $5. 

 Alyeska Resort and Wild Alpine have teamed up to present Teton Gravity Research's classic film Continuum and this year's offering One for the Road. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Chugach National Forest Avalanche Information Center. Local band, Midnight Sun Zombies, a four-piece string band, will play live music. The event is scheduled for December 14, 2011 and tickets cost $10. 

 Snow Film Series kicks off the New Year in full snow machine power mode on January 4, 2012. The double feature of Sledneck's XIV and Hybrid Color Film's Red Sunday features groups of professional freestyle snowmobilers who perform motor cross style tricks for crowds of snowmobile enthusiasts, including crowds at Alyeska Resort every spring. Tickets cost $5. 

 Telluride Mountainfilm on Tour comes to the Sitzmark on January 18, 2012. The evening features short films hand-selected from the famous Telluride Mountainfilm Festival, currently in its 34th year. A selection of films from the festival is taken on the road to reach audiences who otherwise wouldn't have a chance to experience the festival. Those films display themes of adventure, mountaineering, remarkable personalities and important environmental and social messages. Tickets cost $10. 

 Ski industry icon Warren Miller's Like There's No Tomorrow has its Girdwood premier on February 1, 2012. Warren Miller has been reminding people the winter is on its way for the last 60 years and this year's offering features Chris Davenport, Daron Rahlves, Colby West, Julia Mancuso and more.

 The Ski Channel's Film Fest Tour has grown exponentially in the last few years. Showing their 2010 and 2011 features The Story and Winter, on February 15, 2012, these are extraordinary travels around the world that delve into the lives that built and continue to build the great American pastime and sport of skiing. Tickets $5 

 The freeride scene is immortalized on February 29, 2012 in a double feature night. Poor Boyz Production's The Grand Bizarre features top freeride and park athletes in amazing locales. And, Oakley's Ordinary Skier puts legend Seth Morrison on the big scene in a whole new light. Tickets cost $5. 

 Tickets for the Snow Film Series at the Sitzmark can be purchased in advance online at www.AlyeskaResort.com, by calling 907-754-2275 or by visiting any Alyeska Resort Ticket Office. Movies start at 7:00 P.M. and are open to all ages. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
