Table 6 Review

by Mike Komrosky

Table 6 in Midtown is the latest arrival to the eatery scene in Anchorage; it is a welcome addition to the area and its fare is refreshingly far from run of the mill. That said, what else would you expect from the owners of the also delicious Haute Quarter Grill in Eagle River? While you may not find the HQG's decadent menu at Table 6, you will find Anchorage's preeminent version of a BLT, known here as the CBLTA. But Table 6 does not stop with great sandwiches; the menu goes far beyond and shows you that the head chef and crew can more than rise to the challenge.

As you enter Table 6, you are greeted by a friendly smile and have the option to belly up to a bar seat or one of their ample high-chaired tables, both are within view of the full bar and televisions and all are within range of the entertaining music. Even though I was there for the lunch rush, I was quickly seated and immediately attended to by the super friendly Caylee.

For eats; I recommend everything from the sandwich menu but the Reuben, CBLTA, and "fork and knife" are stand outs. The salads are great; try any of them with the raspberry vinaigrette or add one the available options of fish, shrimp or chicken or even TOFU! For drinks: don't forget to wash your order down with one of their 30 something craft beers (bottle and tap) or one their cleverly named libations: go ahead and try the "AK Glacier", or the "I'm all shook up" or the "Acai Berry Cosmopolitan" for a refreshing buzz. Keep in mind folks, this is only the lunch menu so far, the dinner menu includes full sized range of mouth-watering entrees and expanded choices of appetizer plates.

Give Table 6 a try and you are sure to enjoy the eclectically entertaining art on the walls to the excellently prepared grub and attention-grabbing electric brick red interior. One piece of advice before you jump in, check the menu online @anchoragnightout.com (HERE) before you go, because the amount of choices will surprise you and bring an empty stomach.

With a super friendly staff, great food and bright, eclectic indoor setting, this grill has all of the makings of a true success for years to come. You should definitely check this place out before word gets out and you can't get in without a reservation!

Cheers!
